Amani Na Wema Children’s Home (translated as Peace and Goodness Children’s Home in Swahili), located northwest of the central business district of Nairobi, Kenya and is run by nuns and novices to provide care for ~60 orphaned girls. Amani Na Wema Children’s Home’s mission is to ensure the girls have access to food, shelter, healthcare, clothing and education and are eventually reintegrated back into society.

Our non-profit, Imani Freedom Foundation for Girls is an official 501(c)(3) tax exempt non-profit organization, providing the girls of Amani Na Wema Children’s Home with basic and educational necessities for living - food, school books, stationary supplies and feminine hygiene products.

Our founder Mary came across the orphanage in 2022 on a trip home to Kenya visiting her dad and grandmother, in which she found out they regularly provide support to the orphanage with fresh produce grown from their backyard, as well as other food supplies. Mary had met the girls of Amani Na Wema Children’s Home on a visit with her dad to the orphanage and absolutely fell in love with each and every one of the girls’ spirit’s and promised she would find a way to provide support them with the support they need to succeed. Our goal at Imani Freedom Foundation for Girls is to provide a loving home, safe space and nurturing environment for all the girls and to set them up for a brighter future.
