Wellness & Retreats in Africa

Rejuvenate. Reconnect. Relax

Who We Are

Our Story

Wellness + Peace + Relaxation

At Kozulu Wellness we specialize in offering wellness retreats in Africa - whether it be reconnecting with yourself , your African heritage, exploring the natural beauty of the continent or simply taking time off to relax and enjoy life.

Personal wellness and bringing you to visit where we call home to experience the beauty of Africa has always been our goal. Our wellness retreats are focused on your rest, rejuvenation and relaxation. We understand that group trips can often be overwhelming with packed itineraries, many people, and not enough time for you to actually be present with yourself or your surroundings. Our retreats are for the traveler looking to get away, explore Africa, truly relax, take time for yourself and feel recharged afterwards. Our mission is to provide healing and transformative experiences to individuals and the collective consciousness of the Diaspora through our retreats.

Whether your retreat is centered around reconnecting with your roots, healing within, or a meditative getaway, we are here to help you relax your body, mind and soul, on our beautiful continent of Africa.

We’ve curated retreats specifically for you, with intentional focuses to cater to your personal development and growth, such as: reconnecting to your African roots; aligning the mind, body and soul; improving mental health; or simply relaxing + recharging by enjoying the beauty of the continent.

Founder

Mary Bunatal

My name is Mary and I am Ghanaian-Kenyan American.. I moved to Ghana as a child and moving back home to Africa allowed me to reconnect and appreciate both my Ghanaian and Kenyan heritage. I wish everyone had the opportunity to be able to go to Africa to experience how beautiful our continent is, and for Africans of the Diaspora from all over the world to get the opportunity to visit the continent at least once. Africa is home to many of us.

I started Kozulu by bringing together three things that are incredibly important to me - wellness, travelling to Africa and food. Learning about cultures through food motivates me to travel and explore the world. I’ve always been the traveler who preferred exploring nature, meditating, and taking time out to truly experience a new country that allow me to breathe and be present. I fell in love with taking vacations to Africa to create my own personal retreats to reset from day-to-day life and work. And I hope to bring more of you along on this journey with me to enjoy relaxing, restful retreats.

I pursued my bachelors degree in accounting and marketing at New York University and my masters degree in hospitality management at Cornell University. I currently live in Los Angeles and in my free time I enjoy cooking, going on hikes, yoga, visiting Joshua Tree or Malibu and learning about the cosmos.
